RHS Hampton Court Show Gardens

Not for Sale

After our success with ‘Our Lives in Time’s Hands’, we were approached by the charity Tusk Trust to build a garden that would bring attention to the level of needless killing of elephants for their ivory in Africa. The garden ‘Not for Sale’, involved the construction of 80 pairs of tusks, one pair for every elephant killed per day.

Both the Tusk Trust, whose patron is Prince William and our sponsors Woburn Safari Park, were delighted with the results and the publicity it created. The garden can now be seen in its permanent home at the safari park.

This unusual build involved creating an African savannah landscape surrounded by a walkway made of artificial tusks. To add to the drama, the garden included an artificial elephant skeleton built by hand.

The cause promoted interest from the press and several celebrities. ‘Charities shocking wake-up call over Africa’s poachers…at the gardens of Hampton Court’ was a headline run by The Times a few months prior to the event.
